PRICES ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This website do only content prices for our Set Departure Expeditions that have been calculated based in a group of three people.

Of course, we can customize the same trip in a different date if you cannot join any of our set dates or you want a private trip. Prices for tailored private trips will be provided upon request and will depend of the number of participants. Remember that the larger your group the cheaper it gets per person and the longer the trip the cheaper it gets per day. So, the price per person in a short trip organized for just one or two people can get as expensive as a longer trip for 6 people.

Unless specified in a different way, all of our prices are given either in American dollars or Euros and are per person.

We accept the following forms or payment:

  • Credit card. There is no additional charge for the use of your credit card, since we "absorb" the commission that the banking system charges us for the use of credit cards. Just send us your credit card date through our "Reservations Booking Form" (secure-transaction system).
  • Bank transfer. If you prefer to make your payments through the banking system, make sure to provide your local bank with all the Bank Information. Please consider that in this case your have to pay a commission to your local bank, it will deppend of the total amount to be transferred.
  • Cash (preferred). Once made the advance payment (ussualy through credit card), clients could bring cash to pay the balance. Also, cash payment happen when extraordinary services are contracted once you are in the country.

Sorry, but we do not take Traveller checks (you can cash them personally in mayor cities).

In order to help you calculate your total budget you have to consider the following expenses:

  • The return international flight plus an international departure tax ($us 25 for Bolivia).
  • The Land Services (provided by Andean Summits).
  • The local flights.

 Air tickets

We do not include International air tickets in our prices, but - if you confirm us with some time in advance -, we can help you finding good deals with international flights to and from South America in order to join one of our trips.

Whenever local flights are part of one of our itineraries, we usually include them in our price unless specified otherwise. Of course this service will be subject to confirmation.

Single room & single tent supplement

Unless specifically requested, our trips have been calculated based in double occupancy when staying in hotels. That means that Andean Summits reserves it's own right to make you share a room with someone else of the group (or another group we may have).

If you would like to have a room and a tent for yourself, please ask for a SRS (single Room supplement). The price is published on every set departure trip. Nevertheless, there are some places where single rooms or tents are not available. The huts, refuges and very simple hotels on the mountains or in the jungle do not offer such a luxury. The same thing happens on mountaineering expeditions or the high trekking peaks were the loads have to be reduced to the minimum. When in the mountains, you can have a tent for yourself at basecamps, not at high camps.

 Hotel Upgrade

Unfortunately the hotel qualification in South America is not standard and varies depending of the country or even to the city where the hotel is located. Countries like Bolivia have usually their hotels over valuated.

For our trips, we always look for *** accomodation; charismatic hotels, with clean rooms and private hot shower bathrooms, typically located in a safe neighborhood. If you would like to upgrade your hotel, we can help you find the best accommodation in town.

 Baggage excess

On trekking and mountaineering expeditions, we limit the luggage to be carried by animals or porters to 20kg (44pounds) per person. This is usually enough for most of our clients; however, if for any reason (i.e. photography purposes) you need to carry more luggage, consider paying $us 0.60 per extra kilo ($us 0.27 per extra pound).

Local flights in small planes have a limit of 15kg (33pounds) per person.

Meals not included in our itineraries

All meals are included on our trips except in main cities where B&B (Bed & Breakfast) is provided. Our guides can suggest our clients severaloptions to explore and try local delicacies while in main cities. To help you plan your budget, consider paying around US$ 7-10 for lunch or dinner (not including wine or tips) in a good standard but not luxurious restaurant.

 Gear rental

We provide the following common camping equipment on our trips:

 Transfer to/from airports

All transfers between airports and the cities where our itineraries start or end are included on the prices. However, since not all of our itineraries start or end in a city where an international airport is located, you may need this service to be provided separately.

Airport transfers are around $us 30-40 that can be chared among up to 7 the passengers.

NOTE: Local and international airport taxes are not included on the prices either.
