Please read carefully all of our Terms & Conditions before signing for a trip to Bolivia. If there is something of the present document you do not agree with, please cancel the reservation and contact us.

The Booking Form, has to be used to reserve and confirm any services with Andean Summits including: scheduled, private or tailor-made trips, or any other services (i.e. hotel reservations).

Since we provide a personalized attention to our clientele we limit the number of trips per year. The number of passengers in each group is also limited, typically we manage groups of 5 to 10 people maximum; however, when required we can also organize trips for larger groups.

Set date departure trips are confirmed once we have at least three confirmed passengers and bookings close one month before departure date. We strongly suggest to make your reservation three to four months prior to the departure date.

To confirm any reservation we ask a $us 300 advance payment to be made using the Reservations Booking Form.

The balance has to be paid not later than four weeks (one month) prior to the departure. If the balance it is not paid within the previous month prior to departure, a late payment fee of $us 100 will be charged.

The booking form has seven sections: Personal data, Medical form, Emergency Contact, Services Booked, Advance payment form, Terms & Conditions and Waiver and Release of Liability. Ideally all of them should be completely filled out before submitting the form; however, you can just fill in the mandatory fields (marked with an *).

All of our prices are given in American dollars and are per person.

For all payments we accept all major credit cards: Visa, Master Card and America Express (using our on-line system, secure site by Verisign), or money transfers to our bank account. We do not take traveler checks (more information about prices and money issues can be found at our website).

2. Customer Cancellations and Refunds

To cancel a reservation or to cancel a confirmed trip or part of it, we must receive a written cancellation notice.

In the case that you have already made an Advance Payment and due to the fact that a large portion of the trip costs is already spent far in advance of the dates of departure, we will provide refunds according to the following schedule:

Due to the nature of operating in remote wilderness and international destinations, ANDEAN SUMMITS reserves the right to change the itinerary or cancel any trip prior to departure for any reason whatsoever. This may include : insufficient sign-up (three passengers minimum), weather or any logistical problems which may prevent the safe and efficient running of the trip. In such cases, ANDEAN SUMMITS is not responsible for any expenses incurred by the group member in preparation for any trips run by ANDEAN SUMMITS.

4. Changes in the itinerary

ANDEAN SUMMITS operates the trips in a flexible manner allowing our clients to change or modify the itinerary whenever this is possible and only if there is a common agreement with all members of the group.

In the case that any change in the itinerary increase the cost of the trip, clients will have to sign an “addendum” to the present contract agreeing to pay all extra costs.

5. Insurance

We do not include insurance of any kind in our prices; therefore, we highly recommend that you purchase an “Insurance package protection plan” including: Trip cancellation/Interruption, Travel Delay, Baggage/Travel Documents Protection, Accident and Sickness, Medical Expense/Emergency Assistance, Emergency Medical Evacuation, Repatriation or Remains, Rescue Operations, and any other policy consider useful.

By signing our Booking Form you are authorizing us to: arrange a rescue operation, and to provide emergency assistance in the case that you are injured or ill, and that all the expenses will be paid to Andean Summits either by your insurance company or your self.

ANDEAN SUMMITS, will not be responsible for any costs incurred by passengers for such circumstances.

6. Responsibility of Andean Summits

ANDEAN SUMMITS do not assume responsibility or liability howsoever caused for any injury, loss, damage, delay, mental trauma to any person or property resulting directly or indirectly from natural disasters, annoyance, delays and expenses resulting from quarantine, strikes, detention, thefts, pilferage, superior force, failure of conveyance to arrive and/or depart as scheduled, civil disturbances, government restrictions or regulations, acts of god, discrepancies or change in transit and other circumstances over which ANDEAN SUMMITS has no control. We reserve the right to change itineraries, if circumstances beyond our control prevent ANDEAN SUMMITS from continuing the trip in a safe and efficient manner. We reserve the right to alter or cancel any trip due to facts that may endanger passengers and /or staff, sickness, political climate or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

ANDEAN SUMMITS agrees to operate the trip planned to supplying a good service as detailed on the itinerary, unless the facts listed above happen to be.

Full or partial refund of any monies received by ANDEAN SUMMITS, transfers to another similar trip, or credits towards a future trip, will be considered depending of the case.

7. Responsibility of Trip Participants

Any person participating in a trip with ANDEAN SUMMITS is responsible to other trip members and to ANDEAN SUMMITS staff. They are expected to comprehend the implied conditions of traveling in adventure-oriented trips and assume the need to be in adequate health for such activity. They are responsible for bringing the proper equipment and clothing necessary for the trip as stated in the equipment list.

You are responsible for basic hygiene in order to prevent diseases, adopting normal behavior patterns and acting in an appropriate manner according to the customs of the country being visited. They must understand that the laws that apply are those of that country, not the country of which they are citizens.

The guide or trip leader reserves the right to ask a participant not to continue further on the trip if that person is (or may become) a health hazard or who might prove to be a risk to himself/herself or others.

In the case that you have a medical condition, will be taking medication or are going to be under medical treatment during the trip, it is your responsibility to have your medication handy, to use them properly and to follow your doctors prescription. It is advisable that you let ANDEAN SUMMITS know about your condition through the Medical Form, so the guide could help you given the case. This under no circumstances makes ANDEAN SUMMITS responsible for your health.

Any person participating in a trip with ANDEAN SUMMITS, acknowledges that he/she is taking part of activities that could be dangerous to their health and even their lives and that accidents are an inevitable part of it.

8. Acclimatization and clients experience

Acclimatization is a requirement. Andean Summits does not take responsibility for clients who are unable to finish a trip or get sick due to improper acclimatization procedures.

On climbing trips, ANDEAN SUMMITS reserves the right to evaluate our clients experience and use part of the time in the mountains to provide a basic training, after which the ANDEAN SUMMITS guide may suggest a change in the plans if average experience of the members of the group is not adequate for the trip main goal.

Unless is agreed in a different way, trip price is always in American dollars, and per person. ANDEAN SUMMITS reserve the right to change the price due to fluctuations in current tariffs or exchange rates in which the trip price has been calculated.
